1997 Toyota Bandeirante

This 1997 Toyota Bandeirante is a five-passenger hardtop Land Cruiser that made its way from Brazil to Texas and is ready to make another owner happy. The vehicle is finished in white over black vinyl upholstery and powered by a 3.7-liter diesel inline-four turbocharged engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipped with an EK-35 electric winch and aftermarket all-terrain tires, this BJ50 will get you out of any jam and carry through mud and rocks, for nothing can reveal its true potential like off-roading.

    Description

The truck is finished in white with a Bandeirante signature imprinted on both sides of the hood. Features include square headlights, dual side mirrors, sliding side windows, a rear-mounted spare tire, and an electric winch mounted onto the front bumper. The spare tire hides a survival ax affixed to the mount. The vehicle also features front and rear steel bumpers with body bars.

Aftermarket 16″ steel wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires, designed specifically for traversing rugged terrain. The vehicle’s off-road performance is further improved by a suspension lift kit.

The cabin features five seats upholstered in black vinyl with matching door panels. Amenities include a heater and a cigarette lighter. The front passenger seat faces a glove box.

A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 160-km/h speedometer and auxiliary gauges, including a voltmeter, water temperature gauge, as well as oil and fuel level gauges. Since the vehicle was manufactured in Brazil, the fuel gauge is signed as comb with letter v indicating the empty tank and letter c for the full one. The five-digit odometer indicates 90k kilometers (~56k miles). The dashboard of this Toyota Land Cruiser 1997 also includes a turbo boost gauge.

The 14B 3.7-liter diesel inline-four engine features direct injection and produces 98 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque at 1,800 rpm. The engine has been upgraded with a turbocharger for even better performance and an intercooler for maintaining the temperature balance.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case that adds an additional low-range reduction gear set to your vehicle.

The Toyota Bandeirante production ceased in 2001, so one could say that every model is the last of its kind. The Bandeirante series was the reincarnation of the notorious Toyota Land Cruiser J40 line that has been bringing joy to its users since 1960. Even though no longer in production, these off-roaders carry on the legacy of one of the biggest vehicle manufacturers in the world. This car has already seen many a road but is still very capable of exploring more of them, this time in your company. We still have this Toyota Bandeirante for sale.
